He considers man to be inevitably slipping towards total destruction, both of humanity and of the world. At the basis of this idea there is the predicament of a man who has lost his humanity. He considers machines as an ideal and technology as the perfect form of existence. He feels inadequate and outdated, and abdicates his dignity and his responsibility towards himself and the world.
