The present paper deals with two philosophical points of view concerning the dualist problem about the relation of the soul with the world: on the one hand, there is Georg Simmel pointing, in an eloquent fashion, the shades of the life of soul in a world dominated by the fragmentary dimension of modernity; on the other hand, there is Georg Lúkacs trying to find a place where such a landscape can be nullified and overcome. This way, we aim to bring both visions of the world closer as well as to put them apart.
